How We Turned This Lake Cabin Into a Ready-to-Live-In Retreat

This project was such an honor to be a part of.

It wasn’t just a refresh.

We replanned, renovated, and refurnished the entire home. The goal was simple.

Create a warm cottage-style lake cabin that feels welcoming from the moment you walk in and make the process easy for a busy mother/daughter duo who lived hundreds of miles away and had zero desire to manage a remodel or even shop for furnishings, for that matter!

When I first stepped into the home, I saw tremendous potential, but the layout and finishes were working against it.

The home had not been updated in over 30 years. The finishes felt tired and flow did not support how people actually live and gather.

An addition from the 90s created a large, awkward room at the back of the house with a dated bathroom that was not functioning as a comfortable part of the home.
